My friends were americans and i lived with them and their children in Long Beach. One evening during the summer the children were caught by the police because they were smoking on the beach. The police took the children in jail and later they called the parents. It was really awful for the children. They were only 15 or 16 years old.

I can only speak for California; not all, but many of the children in my State are becoming very disrespectful. Honor and respect to others is slowly disappearing from their vocabulary. What the police did, was an effort on their part, to hopefully scare the children into maybe not smoking, and hopefully cause them to think, and not do things they shouldn't later in life. I am not saying what the police did is right or wrong, but I know that is why they did it. The only reason why I know this is; because, I have had a few friends of mine, in my youth, have the same thing happen to them. Did it work? I don't know and I have not had any contact with those friends in over 22 years.
