@Luc It shocks me that people saw you being hit by a car and did nothing. Is that a common thing, or you were just very bad lucky in the people surrounding you at that time? Anyway I hope you had nothing bad to that leg; when you get a blow like that (or a fracture, strain, whatever) puting ice on it as soon as possible (better less than 20 minutes after the injury) it reduces the swelling and the blue/black color that will appear and thus helps to "reduce" a bit of damage. In addition to lower the pain, of course. @ Lafille It might sound shocking Lafille, but appearently "hit & run" is trendy here in Belgium. You don't hear anything else on the news lately. My own dear collegue got hit by a car a yesterday morning, and the woman also didn't stop to check on her, poor thing. It's very common here to hit someone, even if the victim dies, they don't stop for it. We live in such a cruel world @ Luc I hope your leg is better now? Next time you should see a doctor for that. You should treat your body a little better Luc, not eating, smoking, not seeing a medic after an acident... slamming doors wont help you girl Bad news? Not yet, the day has just begon, or oh yes I have some, I really really have to pee, but because they are working at my water supply system, they shut down the watertap, so I can't even use the bathroom Good news? Recieving some nice pm's always makes my day

@ Ube -> u win some, u lose some. since u're young, let's see which one of us is right - in 5 year's time, u end up with nobody or with a great friend (maybe girlfriend?).
@ Mea -> would u like honey with your feet? seriously, u are right. again wisdom of those who have eaten more salt (chinese saying) shines.
acquaintance is somebody u just know casually but a friend is one who will stick to u no matter what. that what can mean that u may have turn to a bad person, or did something seriously wrong or whatever. this friend may be angry with u for doing such evil stuff yet he/she will stand by u. he/she knows u well yet won't condemn u for it & somehow see the goodness in u though others may not see it.
at this point of time, i no longer ask what friends can do for me but what i can do for them.
@ Gal -> don't let that stop u from having friendship that may last a lifetime. know that i experienced something similar (though not as bad as yours) so i can understand your pain a bit.

I feel kind of happy. In my small world there isn't much pain, really. And I don't have the social skills to just walk out the door and find some friends, so I'm not going to do that. Nothing more with that. And I'm starting to settle with what I can and cannot do (I think, I'm probablly underestimateing myself). Why worry, worrying will just make you feel whorse. Complaining too.
Bad news: I'll have to acompany my parents to our summerhouse today and help carrying our new stove, since the old one broke down. Now I won't have my computer to pass my time, now I'll have to stick to my parents, my sega (which I probablly will ignore) and my books . Isn't that awfull???? (No it isn't...)
Good news: I'll probablly get great food . I expect some kind of barbeque, which I wouldn't have got at home, since I can't make that, but my parents can. And barbecue is one of the best things with summer . (That and the potatoe, and I'll get plenty of both .)

Good News: I finally made a decision that I feel comfortable with. Yeah! I've decided to stay put due to a recent promotion at work and my brother's possible upcoming wedding. Plus I also have my eye on a bigger prize.
One day I will make it to England for a visit (shorter than 3 years I think). Thanks for your support.

Good news! Stéphane (my sensei) said "Très bonne démo!" which translates to "Very good demo!". Also, I bought a wooden wakizashi and a han-bo, which means I can go to the ninjutsu summer camp next month! Well done Rhytok! Maybe you can go chase after some girls on camp? But be nice, they know ninjutsu!

@Gal Hit&run happens here too (there's even a criminal charge just for that: "délit de fuite"; but I don't know how it works in other countries or even other Canadian provinces). What is shocking is that NOBODY at all even dared to check/ask if she was ok! I don't know, maybe in Montreal it could happen, but I just can't imagine that to happen in any other of the places I know in Quebec; and especially to a woman...
@Lady Sarah It is a great news that you came to a clear decision; and even greater that it's for something better!
No good or bad news here today apart from that it was a good ordinary day the girl and that the weather was great, rainy and cool to help extinguish the remaining forestfires (27 still burning; only in the protected zone that is). Good news finally...

Well done Rhytok! Maybe you can go chase after some girls on camp? But be nice, they know ninjutsu! Thanks! And I would but most girls already have boyfriends, and they know ninjutsu too What is shocking is that NOBODY at all even dared to check/ask if she was ok! I don't know, maybe in Montreal it could happen, but I just can't imagine that to happen in any other of the places I know in Quebec; and especially to a woman... I've seen one person get hit here in Montréal, and almost everyone around stopped to see if she was alright so I'm pretty sure it wouldn't happen here. But I don't see every accident here so you never know. No news from me, I had an average day.

Bad news: I got news that my summer will suck. I guess the news weren't exactlly "your summer will suck". WHAT news was they? Oh, my trip to my parents summer house was kind of a drag, since I had nothing to do . I thought I would be able to start reading 'Les Miserables' (for school) but I couldn't manage to do that. It took me five pages to realize the rest of the book would be a big pain (there were NO feeling at all), so I stopped. But the food was nice though . And I'm home now, which means I survived it. What doesn't kill me makes me stronger . Übereil

Übereil You did not enjoy a great novel like "Les Misérables" and you just bother about food ! Sorry in this novel the feelings of the characters are very important. Barta

After five pages I didn't have any feeling about anything, the characters just did stuff without any reason. It was so extremelly unemotional it made me go "Not again!" and put it away.

Or maybe the book isn't very entertaining . Though I got to admit the translation was kind of old. It looks nice though, nicelly colloured paper and all. But I'm going to read the text, not look at the book (even though I WOULD look at the book. OK, you know what I mean, don't you???).

Hey Üb, if the book is too hard, try to rent the movie instead. Les Miserables, you will learn a lot when you watch the movie, there is also another older version of it, but I 'm not sure if you will find it in Sweden. But the movie is very good, with lots of wellknown actors. I like the story too. And btw, never say that the book is without any emotions, Victor Hugo was one of France' greatest writers Oh yes, forgot to mention my remains of the day: Bad news: I had such a clumsy day today, I hit, bumped, dropped everything on my way and now I have bruises all over my body Good news: My bladderinfection got better, do to the whole bottle of water I drank yesterday (1,5 L) and it was really nice weather today, almost too hot to get out but still... ![[Linked Image]](http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/person/orangehat.gif)

@Jurak Post your invention in the cook's thread, please. I might try it (there are a couple of spicy food adepts at home); we're searching for new (not too complicated) recipes these days. But we're 6 and there are only two toiletrooms...

And btw, never say that the book is without any emotions, Victor Hugo was one of France' greatest writers The old Islandic viking stories might be some of their greatest literary works, but that doesn't make them very emotional. I've read a few, and they were boring as... Well they were very boring, because none of the caracters had any emotions. They just acted. In one of the stories a duke (or something) would have to execute someone because he rode a horse the duke told him not to ride, and sure, he didn't want to do this, but he executed him without feeling anything. "Sorry I'll have to do this" SPLAT his head was chopped off. And after five pages (or something) I discovered Les Miserables was the same, the characters had no emotions, they just acted (like the bishop changeing living residence with the hospital. He never explained why...). And prehaps Victor Hugo is one of France greatest writers ever, but that doesn't make Les Miserables any better on that front! And it doesn't make it too hard, it makes it too boring. I'm going to try Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë now. Übereil

At the time when the Sagas were written, literature was *totally* different. There even wasn't any emotional message in it.
