I can only stress what Gal said. Go out once in a while and go walking, or making bycicle tours ! Get yourself a reason to go out walking ! - Food, magazines, a group of people with the same interests as you have etc. . Acually, I've allready done that . I used to cykle to school (stopped last week due to the weather), and I go for walks once in a while, just to have something to do (this is usually between classes). I allso walk to the bus ... Übereil

@Stone Oh yes, thanks. And I remember that the "fabric keyboard" was from Logitech, I think. But after all... Does one really needs to type that much on a PDA, that one will carry a keyboard device that takes as much room as the PDA itself? In any case, I hope you can find a way to make your thumb keyboard work; it sucks when we buy something that doesn't work properly or gives trouble to make it work. At the begigning, technology was supposed to ease our life...
@Ube You should consider to fraternize with people that are very different from you; like kids, elderly persons, people from very different countries than yours; even go to people who have different kinds of problems that you don't really know about (sick, poor, disadvataged people; why not even alchoolic or abused people). Help people, do something that is socially useful; it's the best way to grow some self esteem and you'll gain much more than you'll give by involving yourself. You can learn so much from the others' experiences. You could also consider getting a dog, if you like it and have/can find the means to. A dog makes it easy to meet people & to create new relationships, and it gives most people a very positive attitude towards you. Also a dog obliges you to go out; it gives you the reasons you need and leaves you with no valid excuse. Wouldn't a beautiful samoyede with Cristmas in the face make you look good, attract people and wouldn't it brighten your Swede winters? Happiness is also a lot about attitude, and your attitude is one of the only things in the world that you have control in...

LaFille, since i lost my parkplace in Frankfurt and have to drive with a Train to work i write some Post from our german Forum RPG with my PDA. And my PDA has a mobile unit for wich i made a data connect contract. So i can go in the internet. And if you do that the wish for better typing comes fast.

I AM a pessimist from birth, and these depressing winters doesn't improve me on that point... Eh, snow... Not a lot of it, just a thin blanket of snow, hardlly covers the grass. That snow will turn into slush, then it will freeze into ice. And I'll have problems walking due to the slippery surface. My attitude towards the matter won't change facts, so expecting this makes me more prepared. And usually when it comes to weather I just endure. I'm not very good at it, but things I can't change I just try to accept. I'm not saying I'm good at it though . And I don't know about a dog... I'm not much of an animalperson really, and I live at my parets house, so it doesn't feel possible really. My biggest problem when it comes to meeting new pepole is that I don't like meeting new pepole (it's that simple! ). New pepole makes me feel uncomfortable , and I'm terrible at makeing conversation with pepole I don't know (I'm bad at it with pepole I DO know). right said fred!
Ube, i know u must be tired to hear of this by now but hey, i was like u also in your young & tender age. honest! count your blessings & see that u're very very priviledged. u're not one of those kids in Kashmir when the earthquake hit, u're not among the victims in New Orleans when Katrina hit, in Bali when it was bombed, in Baghdad when there was a stampede, in Sri Lanka when the tsunami hit, hungry in North Korea or famine-hit african countries, counted among the dead children in Beslan etc.
all u need is to sit for maybe an hour or even as short as half an hour watching the world news to find out how screwed up the whole world can be while u're in comfort, safe & sound as u feel pity for the victims that can't get themselves out of trouble which they're not at fault. makes u feel special for being who & where u are. to be very honest with u, u're a heck lot smarter than i was at your age. at least 10 times. ..... ok, i know that's nothing to shout about, being smarter than the average beard.
for Ube's eyes only ->Spoiler : when joking, please state that it's a joke at the end of the post so people won't get offended unnecessarilly.
@ Luc -> knowing that u're having such a great time in Spain, i am thankful & glad. come back safe & sound, ok?
@ Stone -> 'think outside' has very good product & i'm using one now for my palm tungsten e, the wireless foldable keyboard. it's very small actually but when u unfold it, it's the size of a regular keyboard which makes typing so easy. this is good when u don't really need a laptop but still need to do some typing. i think the bluetooth one should be very good as well. anyway, the one i'm using now which is IR is very power efficient (the batteries can last for 3 weeks plus when the keyboard's constantly used).

Got 11, needed 14. Then again, I think 10 of them is extremelly true... Maybe, but the way you described it (being aware of other pepoles mood and things like that), I'm not highlly sensitive. The things I checked was:
I tend to be very sensitive to pain. I have a rich, complex inner life. I am deeply moved by the arts or music. I am conscientious. I try hard to avoid making mistakes or forgetting things. (At least I try VERY HARD not to make mistakes. I hate makeing mistakes...) Being very hungry creates a strong reaction in me,disrupting my concentration or mood. Changes in my life shake me up. I make it a high priority to arrange my life to avoid upsetting or overwhelming situations. When I must compete or be observed while performing a task, I become so nervous or shaky that I do much worse than I would otherwise. (This is SO true.) When I was a child, my parents or teachers seemed to see me as sensitive or shy.

I'm not shy, I just speak if I find the conversation intresting, if not I just listen to what uninstresting things that are said and imagine shaking my head.

I took the test and I'm a bit surprised of the outcome You have indicated that 13 of the items are true of you.
Scoring: If you answered more than fourteen of the questions as true of yourself, you are probably highly sensitive. Hmm, got close to being a highly sensitive person, never thought I was. But then again, the questions that fitted me the best was if I get moved by art, music and smells. Yeah, I am! @ Übs I was a pessimist when I was younger too, I only listened to "dark music" and wore black clothes. I had changed my attitude and I became a new person, optimistic, happy and I always try to help someone. That too helps your morale to raise. Good news: Today, I rescued a bird, a Blackbird "Turdus merula" from being trapped inside a building. I'm happy I did it. It was my tenth bird rescue in my life Bad news: At the same time, thousands if not millions of birds are exterminated because of the bird flue, I can't handle the piles of death birds anymore on the news. That is why I don't watch it for now, I only follow it on the radio *Edit* Another good thing: I finally have boxes to pack all our stuff. We are moving in two weeks!! I'm starting to freak out here!!

Unfortunately I don't know any English-language Forum I could recommend you but I'm active in a German-language community about that.

At the opposite i think it's a "plus". Sensitive persons have better relationship with other people because they can understand the others with the mind not only with the words. However it's not the same thing to be highly sensitive and to have a lack of self confidence. The self confidence is something which is hard to get. People have to make a lot of efforts to get it. With the years and the experience of life, most of the people can get a better self confidence because the knowing of themselves is better. Reading Ubereil's posts i don't think he is unhappy (except the weather problem). I think Ub likes to stay at home playing games on his computer or listening music or chatting in the forum. I think he doesn't really want to meet people or to have a lot of friends. I think he feels different from other people but it's untrue a lot of people are just like him. About the weather i agree with Ub, a bad weather and short days during winter are quite depressive for a lot of people. Ub i guess you should move in Italy as soon as possible. Barta

I wouldn't claim anything about how ube is, if he is shy, or not socially skilled or depressed, he has to determin that for himself.
I'm not a very socially skilled person in some ways, I do talk to poeple, but it's hard for me to talk to strangers, untill they're not that strange anymore. I can't look anyone I don't know well enough in the eyes. These are things that limit me on social experiences, but that doesn't mean I can't use my other characteristics to cover what I lack humor for once is a very social stimulator, so are interests, find a person that shares interest and within time your friendbase expands, giving you more self-confident and slowly working away your "shy-ness" to put it in a word.
Give it time, and work on it, till poeple talk about how you "blossemed".
This has little to do with you Ube, just words of wisdom, as true wisdom is life's experience I share my experiences on this shy subject.
PS: I still often listen to "dark music" not because the mood I'm in, lyrics and the composing can often be brilliant even in music inspired on the darker side of life. It also gives you a sense of reality compared to what public radio makes you believe.
Good news: eeehm today wasn't bad. Bad news: today was not special. One of those days.
It's one of these days...

Indeed. You (same for janggut) seem to be pretty gadget-guy like, are you? Yes, i think thats right. ;D But i dont need the newest gadets. Only, if i buy a new gadget, i look that it is the best (for me ) wich i can get. My last Mobile for example i had four or five years. Now i want a new, see that Sony Ericsson w800i and think that this has a really good endowment and buy it. Ok, it is not cheap, but i think with this Mobile i can stay for the next four years
