Hope you didn't catch gangrene or something...

Bad News: I've got a minor headache.
Good News: I didn't cross my 30 year old bike trough 5cm's of snow ice and rubbish, wearing neither gloves nor cap.

Yesterday was the yearly nightly indoorbandy tornament at our school. We all stayed up all night and played indoorbandy, ten minute games with three hours in between (where you had basiclly nothing to do). Last year we won because we had the three best players. Two of those were away this due to illness/skitrip. Despite that we managed to win again. The victory was based on the last of the three players shoveling goals as if he was obsessed and the rest of the team staying as a shield in front of our goalkeeper, with the only goal to get the ball away from there. Since I wasn't one of the three (I wish I was that talented, but I'm not ) I was part of the defence. And I acually did quite well (especially considered my lack of talent (even though I'm not that bad at indoor bandy)). I got a lot of commend from my fellow teammates, which felt great, because that's nothing I'm used to. When I played football I was allways the worst of my team, and I never felt like what I did contribued to the success of the team (more usuall was the totall opposit). So acually feeling like what I did was of use to my team felt great. I acually felt good about myself (for about an hour, then I passed out in my bed ), which is another thing I've never really felt.
On the other hand, I didn't write that text on computer theory I planned to write today ...

I'm actually very depressed at the moment. One of my two cats, Eliot, has been gone for over a week now and I'm starting to fear the worst. I really really miss him.

Poor Macbeth, don't fear, a cat is not as faithful as you would think, give it some milk and she/he is yours. Do you live near a busy traffic road? I will think of your Eliot

Thanks for thinking about him No we luckily don't live close to a busy road, but still. He's gone eight days now He's never been away that long.

Good news: I acually worked on my site today instead of playing computergames . I wrote a text about computer theory . I got some kind of schoolbook feel from reading it, but otherwise it was ok.

Macbeth, don't worry too much; cats are everything but helpless. I hope you'll have news soon. Is your cat sterilized, and did you have its front claws removed?
I never had cats, but it happened to people around me that their would go away for several days. Sometime they even turned really "wild" and survived on their own, not wanting to come back to settle at human homes again. One was even fleeing his owners when they saw him some days after, even though they had always treated him very gently.

Remains of the day... not much remains, I woke up just a few hours ago.

Thanks for the vote of confidence. About the neutering: the ironic thing is that we were going to have him castrated the very day he 'disappeared' because he was getting in fights all the time.

He knew. That's why he left.

One of my cats has vanished as well. I'm moving house at the moment and Gwen escaped when I opened the car door. She doesn't know the area at all and I think she's lost. I know she can look after herself so I don't fear for her safety. I just miss her. Litha, on the other hand, is slowly settling into the new house.

that can be the case, Al. although not to insult HEF's & Macbeth's kitties, some cats are actually not that smart although they will do well enough to survive on their own.

as for male cats, well i have more than enough of mine that went for a walkabout once they are mature enough. often times, out of 4 of the same batch, only one would stay home & be the male of the litter. the rest would either go for a permanent walkabout & never return, or at times would return for a short while before going off again, with one or two of the younger males that just mature following big daddy.

Sorry to hear that! Are you moving far away from your old house. Because what Alrik says makes sense.

Cats very often move into a house not far away.... so maybe putting some pics out with a lost/missing message, will get you a phone call with a kity back....

My kitty that went missing when we moved, has moved into a house 2 blocks away.... he is happy, the people love him, so we left him there...

Had a HUGE accomplishement aswell today.... got a 12 year old to change his attitude, from i dont like reading to ....being glued in front of the book for 2 hours, giggling like a little girl with a secret...

the book...

"Geis of the gargoyle" - ok granted the wordplay in the book is just hysterical....
