A certain little 12 year old just got his school report..... i am listening to "dad" giving the lightning and thunder speech.

I feel EXTREMELY exhausted now. I've made a bycicle tour of about 20 or even more Kilometres to Cologne & back.

Tomorrow I have to give a five minute speech about lifestyles (I chose punk). I don't know if what I have will take five minutes, so I'm going to complement it with a text about The Sex Pistols (you heard of them? There kind of famous). The problem is that I've got a headache <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" />. Oh, after I've wrote about the pistols I'm goning to have to read it through a couple of times so I know it. Pretty bad to read from the paper on the oral national test in Swedish...

Hmm had that problem with my Dad once (some centuries ago <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> )

And his solution was IF I was able to increase my grades by X then I would receive an electric train set.

You know it worked .... and I can still see my Dad's face when I showed him the report card ....Hah!! he was happy and sad all at the same time ....happy cause I got the grades and sad that he had to spent an large amount of (for those days anyway) money on a new train set <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

Well, I did get VG (could have been far whorse), because I wasn't really able to connect my list of bands that appeared in the early days of punk to the subject (lifestyles). It allso turned out that my speech was eight minutes instead of five <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shame.gif" alt="" />... I would never have guessed, never, never, never, never, never...

Well, apart from the mathtest tomorrow I only have the projectwork to worry about (will take care of most of it this weekend). Oh, and I allso have a paper to write on cristianity vs islam (I'll pick the subject marriage and display how cristians see on that, then how muslims see on that, then I compare their views), and a bookreview on a book I've read like a third of for the moment (it should have been in last week too...). But that's more than a week to those so <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />...

just watched TV and there was something about a book, which seemingly (they said so) is a bestseller within the USA.
It's about the american natives, sometimes called "Indians".

The author states that before the arrival of the Europeans there had been huge, highly complex cultures - of which remains are actually discovered since the late 90s. Before that, no-one knew or thought that the big channels and mounds were build by the natives.

The most interesting point of this is, however, the decline of their cultures. The author states that not superior weapon technology from the europeans drove them into nearly extinction, but instead viruses and deseases against which the natives had next to no protection at all. The narrator called it an "unwillingly biological warfare." Quote from the author : "The Europeans wondered about the vase crop fields and empty towns." They just took them over, that was the "secret of success" of the european settlers.

If that's true, then it's a) a boost for american archaeology, and b) parts of history must be written anew, so to say.

I find this very exciting !
