Well, in the last days I made a *huge* data backup of my files, fo I got a lot of space free.

In consequence, I installed

- Knightshift (Once upon a Knight)
- Project Nomands
- Ultima 8
- Gene Machine
- Kinder des Nils (Immortal cities)

just to look how they are.

I discovered by the way, that the readme to Immortal Cities says that younger NVidia drivers can cause texture problems. I've seen them. They also say the "youngest" problem-free driver is 45.23. I installed it, and since then not only Immortal Cities runs good, but also Knightshift.

You might as well play FF1 on the GBA, better graphics and bonus dungeons. It's called Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls and it comes with FF2 as well.

Dammit, I played for two hours yesterday just to get to lvl 3 and finnish the first boss! I'm NOT starting again !!!

ARGH! I'm ANGRY !

I'm looking for a patch for Civ III - it has been of the CD-ROM of a gaming magazine in the last months.

The readme file says (in German) that the official site is www.civ3.com

It's in English, but who cares ?

I go to it, look under Ssupport -> Patches

Okay, there are two Patches listed.

And one sentence : "Not compatible with european versions.

WHAT ? Not compatible with european versions ? And no european patches there AT ALL ? THIS IS THE OFFICIAL SITE OF THE GAME !!!

ANY site that claims to be an "official" one SHOULD be adressed to ANY country in this world I thought - am I so wrong ? Where is my patch when I can't have it from the OFFICIAL site ?

Now I'm really angry.

These stupid stupid "marketing specialists" neglecting the presence of everything non-english out there ....

Now I'm trying the Gereman publisher ... Atari doesn't even have the game listed ... only through Google I find a page about it. I try to download ... "no such file or directory". Does this mean they have actually REMOVED the Patch ???

I want to cry out. Loud. Very loud.

To let everyone hear my frustration.

Especially into the faces of those who are responsible for this mess.

This is what I call "user un-friendly".

Less time to sit in front of a PC or an Xbox these days, so my gaming has been portable:

PSP

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty city stories - portable GTA fully featured GTA that plays as well as any console version.

PSP
Xmen legends 2: rise of apocolyse:

I'm blown away...brillant RPG diablo style game with xmen characters.

20 playable characters,
tons upon tons of extras to unlock,
huge levels,
4 characters on screen at once,
vast character skill upgrades,
spoken dialog for all the characters (with patrick stewart as prof x)
great graphics, and super power effects
and great replay value with different character teams and power leveling.

Thanks, but to me this is a general problem : How companies treat customers.

And as long as this problem isn't solved, people might get crazy as I did.

Recently I came upon Worms 2 (PC; that cartoonesque game where funny worms teams have to kill each other with silly weapons) in my older computer stuff and decided to play again. Now I'm quite addicted. Soon I'll get into BD and BG II.

It's not a scaled down version either, its got the 12 countries leagues, 25,000 players and all the stats etc too...pity I'm crap at it! I'm ruining Chelsea

If you have QBASIC.EXE on your PC, then it is likely you'll have GORILLA.BAS as well. Try this out if you like the Worms.

QBASIC is an old interpreter for Basic files in the old DOS times. The command QBASIC GORILLA.BAS should run the game.

According to a site the program/interpreter QBASIC.EXE can still be found at Microsoft in this self-extracting archive : ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/Softlib/MSLFILES/OLDDOS.EXE
The .BAS basic files should - according to the same page - still be found within this self-extracting archive : ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/Softlib/MSLFILES/SUP622.EXE

I've done some programming in QBASIC (in school) .

I play DotA still, and getting better and better . A friend told me yesterday I'm probablly the guy he knows who has developed most as a player *proud*.
I allso play FM 2006. The problem (as allways) is that I restart all the time... Which is kinda boring, since I never get further than two leaguegames into the season. I allso feel my player tires too much...

Thank you, Alrik. I don't know what an interpreter program is (or rather, does) though. Is GORILLA.BAS an old computer game that came with some exploitation systems or... ?

@ Fille -> basic is exactly like what its name describes it - basic programming platform which has very very limited capabilities. the first programming language i learnt last time before moving to C was QBasic. it's easy & helps to understand what programming is.

so any file that has BAS as extension is a basic file so when u want to run it, u have to compile it in a basic compiler. it's like running a cpp file in a C++ compiler.
