"The world is not enough,
but it is such a perfect place to start
my love.
And if your strong enough,
together we can take the world apart
my love.

People like us,
know how to, survive.
There's no point in living
if you can't feel alive.

The world is not enough,
but it is such a perfect place to start
my love.
And if your strong enough,
together we can take the world apart
my love."

---The world is not enough, featured in the James Bond movie with the same name.

"It starts with...
one thing, I don't know why.
It doesn't even matter how hard you try.
Keep that in mind;
I designed this rhyme
to explain in due time...

All I know...
That time is a valuble thing;
watch it clock by as the pendalum swings.
Watch it count down to the end of the day;
the clock ticks like a way thats...

So un-real...
I didn't look alone
watch the time go
right out the window.
Trying to hold on,
didn't even know
that I wasted it all
just to...

Watch you go...
I kept everything inside
and even though I tried
it all fell apart.
What it meant to me
will eventually
be a memory
of a time...

I tried so hard
and got so far,
but in the end,
it doesn't even matter.
I had to fall
and lose it all,
but in the end,
it doesn't even matter...

One thing, I don't know why.
It doesn't even matter how hard you try.
Keep that in mind;
I designed this rhyme
to remind myself how I...

Tried so hard...
Its right in the way you were moking me;
acting like I was part of your property.
Remembering all the times that you fought with me
I'm surprised it...

Got so far...(start next line on 'far')
Things aren't the way they were before;
you wouldn't even recognise me anymore.
It's not like you knew me back then,
but it all comes back to me...

In the end...
I kept everything inside
and even though I tried
it all fell apart.
What it meant to me
will eventually
be a memory
of a time...

I tried so hard
and got so far,
but in the end,
it doesn't even matter.
I had to fall
and lose it all,
but in the end,
it doesn't even matter...

I put my trust,
in you;
pushed as far as I can go.
For all this,
there's only one thing you must know.
I put my trust,
in you;
pushed as far as I can go.
For all this,
there's only one thing you must know.

I tried so hard
and got so far,
but in the end,
it doesn't even matter.
I had to fall
and lose it all,
but in the end,
it doesn't even matter...
"

---In the end, by Linkin Park (probably the only song I know off by heart )

@Dragh : Could be from Kira Ny ...

Okay, here's mine, slightly distorted from Phil Collins "all of my life" :

All of my life,
I've been saying sorry,
for the things I know I should have done ( / said )
no matter how much I try
these things come back to me
all of my life ...

*sigh*

Down Under by Men at work, heard it on the radio this morning and it is now stuck in my head.

"Do you come from a land down under?
Where women glow and men plunder?
Can't you hear, can't you hear the thunder?
You better run, you better take cover."

Buying bread from a man in Brussels
He was six foot four and full of muscles
I said, "Do you speak-a my language?"
He just smiled and gave me a vegemite sandwich
And he said,

"I come from a land down under...

this is in the middle of the song (Elderly Woman Behind A Counter In A Small Town by Pearl Jam)

************
i swear i recognise your face
memories like fingerprints, are slowly raising
u wouldn't recall, for i'm not my former
it's hard when u're stuck up on the shelf

i change by not changing at all
small town predicts my fate
perhaps that why no one want to see

i just want to scream - HELLO!!
my God, it's been so long
never dreamed u return

but now here u are
& here i am
hearts & thoughts, they fade away

hearts & thoughts, they fade, fade away ....

**************

brings up a lot of sad memories remembering the words. & once they flow, they really flow like tears. as if it happened only yesterday.

"Every day when your walking down da street,
everybody that you meet
is a rhythm upon the beat.

And I say 'Hey! *hey*
What a wonderful time today *hey*;
we can learn to work and play *hey*
and get along wit each-other.'

You gotta listen to your heart;
listen to da beat.
Listen to da rhythm;
rhythm of da street.
Open up your eyes;
open up your ears.
Get together and make it betta'
by workin' togetha'.

It's a simple message
and it comes from de heart.
Oh, belive in yourself, *belive in yourslef*
for thats the place to start! *place to start!*

And I say 'Hey! *hey*
What a wonderful time today *hey*;
we can learn to work and play *hey*
and get along wit each-other.' *hey*

What a wonderful time today. *hey*
What a wonderful time today.
HEY!"

--- I'm sure most of you recognise the theme song of the TV show 'Arthur'. Can't belive I still remember it by heart...

I like The World Is Not Enough and Elderly Woman Behind the Counter.

you, stay,
si-lent, know-ing, al-ways, in time
see how this love stays divine
see how this love stays divine

sleep, here,
ho-ping, know-ing, al-ways, in time
see how this love stays divine
see how this love stays divine
this is the way step inside

(and i'm waiting)
when I return to her I find
(i'm waiting)
flowers of evil in my mind
(and i'm waiting)
dancing with fire on the edge
(i'm waiting)
remembering all of what she said
(and i'm waiting)
hoping the rains will wash away
(i'm waiting)
hoping a guide will show the way
(and i'm waiting)
dancing with fire on the edge
(i'm waiting)
remembering all of what she said
with this fire in the head

- The Tea Party - Fire In The Head Love it, and it sticks to the head.

T.N.T. for the brain-Enigma

Smell your skin
Feel your breath
You on my side
I couldn't resist

I hope I'll understand some day
What's the meaning of this crazy game
It is real and pure

T.N.T. for the brain

If there's no pain
Rules are still the same
I'm with you, just lead me
I'm ready to play

T.N.T. for the brain...

"Late last night and the night before,
Tommyknockers, Tommyknockers,
knocking at the door.
I want to go out, don't know if I can,
'cause I'm so afraid
of the Tommyknocker man."

---This is a poem. The first three lines are traditional, but Stephen King added the last three for his book 'The Tommyknockers'. A very good book at that too.

"Wee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee A-wee-um-um-a-way!
We-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee A-wee-um-um-a-way!
A-weem-a-wap A-weem-a-wap A-weem-a-wap A-weem-a-wap
A-weem-a-wap A-weem-a-wap A-weem-a-wap A-weem-a-wap.
A-weem-a-wap A-weem-a-wap A-weem-a-wap A-weem-a-wap
A-weem-a-wap A-weem-a-wap A-weem-a-wap A-weem-a-wap. (continue for rest of song)
In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lions sleep tonight.
In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the lions sleep tonight.
A-wee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee A-wee-um-um-a-way!
A-wee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee-ee A-wee-um-um-a-way!

---I know the actual song goes longer, but thats all I remember (and thats all the show on the Lion King... ). Quite a few people sung it, but I don't know who originally. I know James Brown did once... I think .
Oh, its called In the Jungle (of course )

Come and take a trip with me
To a land where love is free.
Follow me into the light.
Everything is gonna be alright!
Kiss a girl then take her hand.
I will show you promised land.
Stay with me in paradise.
Everything is gonna be alright!

This post is all about a poem by Hughes Mearns.
Its called 'The Psychoed'.
By the way, Hughes Mearns was a schizophrenic.

The Real Version

"The other day, upon a stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today;
To his Glory let us pray.

Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He's not been there a day or three,
I think he's from the EAC!

I asked another if he saw
the little man, he answered "Naw."
I've proved it true, I'm satisfied --
he can't be seen! I haven't lied!"

Variations Of The First paragraph

"As I was going up the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today...
Oh how I wish he'd go away!"

"As I was going down the stair,
I saw a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today;
he must be from the CIA!"

"Yesterday upon a stair
I saw a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish that man would go away!"

Most Known Version (featured on the movie 'Identity')

"The other day, upon a stair,
I saw a man who wasn't there.
He wasn't there again today,
I wish, I wish he'd go away."

Killerzzz

P.S.: By the way, I did get all this from the internet. Bad me.
It is one of my favorite poems (its so fascinating ), but I don't know all the variations off by heart. I just know the Identity version (and I don't know if thats even right ).

HUGS [Linked Image]

There's something in a simple hug
That always warms the heart;
It welcomes us back home
And makes it easier to part.

A hug's a way to share the joy
And sad times we go through,
Or just a way for friends to say
They like you 'cause you're you.

Hugs are meant for anyone
For whom we really care,
From your grandma to your neighbour,
Or a cuddly teddy bear.

A hug is an amazing thing -
It's just the perfect way
To show the love we're feeling
But can't find the words to say.

It's funny how a little hug
Makes everyone feel good;
In every place and language,
It's always understood.

And hugs don't need new equipment,
Special batteries or parts -
Just open up your arms
And open up your hearts.

I hate the world today
You're so good to me
I know but I can't change
tried to tell you
but you look at me like maybe
I'm an angel underneath
innocent and sweet.
Yesterday I cried,
must have been relieved
to see the softer side
I can understand
how you'd be so confused
I don't envy you
I'm a little bit of everything
All rolled into one

[Chorus]
I'm a bitch, I'm a lover
I'm a child, I'm a mother
I'm a sinner, I'm a saint
I do not feel ashamed
I'm your hell, I'm your dream
I'm nothing in between
You know you wouldn't want it any other way

There she was just walking down the street,
singing "Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do"
Snapping her fingers and shuffling her feet,
singing "Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do
"She looked good (looked good),
she looked fine (looked fine) She looked good,
she looked fine and I nearly lost my mind
Before I knew it she was walking next to me,
singing "Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do
"Holding my hand just as natural as can be,
singing "Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do
"We walked on (walked on) to my door (my door)
We walked on to my door, then we kissed a little more
Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do, oh yeah, oh, oh yeah
Do wah diddy diddy dum diddy do

I'm glad, Janggut. How about this one...

We can dance if we want to
We can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine
I say, we can go where we want to
A place where they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind
And we can dance

I say, we can dance, we can dance
Everything out of control
We can dance, we can dance
We're doing it from wall to wall
We can dance, we can dance
Everybody look at your hands
We can dance, we can dance
Everybody takin' the cha-a-a-ance

Safety dance
Is it safe to dance
Is it safe to dance

S-s-s-s A-a-a-a F-f-f-f E-e-e-e T-t-t-t Y-y-y-y
Safe, dance!
