Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Teleport Portals ... how do they work?

Greetings.

I just started playing Divine Divinity a few days back, and I have to say I am quite addicted. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I have recently found two teleporters (dwarven one in the forest, and magic one near the graveyard).

I cannot figure out how to use them though.

I click on one, the map is displayed, the activated portal has the blue flame, but I cannot go to any other portals (same symbol or different, doesnt matter).

Do I have to "discover" a portal before I can use it as a destination? i.e. Do I have to find A and B to travel from A to B? Or can I just go from A to B with only finding A?

You need to find a teleporter scroll to activate a teleporter pad, and you must find and activate a teleporter pad before you will be able to teleport to it. If you have the proper scroll type, stepping on a pad brings up the map, as you have found, and you can teleport to any other activated pad (by clicking on the corresponding blue flame).

Zandalor should have given you the mage teleporter scroll, to activate the teleporter pad near Aleroth. Go talk to Goemoe about the lizard scroll (if you healed both patients). Other than that, explore everywhere and talk to everyone.

Ahh, so I can only teleport from blue flame to blue flame.

In the inn where you shall meet the wisard Zandalor....In Blue boar inn i think.
In one of the guest rooms there is a dwarf who have a teleporter scroll, (on the table).
he ask you if yot want some gems he have found, but say somthing like "no, give the gems to someone els hwo are in greater need of them" the dwarf vill run out of the room because he want to give the gems to some one poor ....then it's only to take the scroll and every thing els in the room that you want. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
