At some point when I am playing the game just freezes and shuts down. Sometimes it gives me an error message that there is a problem with <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/div.gif" alt="" /> and gives me the options of "send it" or "Don't Send". When I start the game after this shutdown it asks me again to configure Divine Divinity. At the very bottom of the box it says "PMode not determined". What's wrong? How can I fix this?
Thanks.

That is a Windows XP error message that asks you if you want to send a report to Microsoft, or not. Do the crashes seem random or associated with any particular activity, spell, sound, etc? Troubleshooting Tips (& manual install procedure)

They seem to be random. Although they usually happen when my character is running, or not even. I click to run and then it just shuts down.

A couple people had problems with running through doorways, which could be solved by lowering the hardware sound acceleration in dxdiag by a notch, but I have not seen just running (or starting to run) being a problem.
Have you checked for updated video drivers, etc? Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game?

Yeah I shut down all. In fact, if I am going to play I dont run any programs before playing. If I do, my game slows down (although I do not understand why; my system well exceeds the minumum requirements). Anyway, yes, going through doorways sometimes does cause a crash, but also while I am in motion, i.e. running, fighting.

Try lowering your hardware sound acceleration a notch (click Start | Run, type in dxdiag and hit Enter, then switch to the sound tab). Since the symptoms are somewhat the same, maybe this will help.
Have you checked for Windows critical updates, updated video drivers, etc?
Have you recently ran a virus / spyware scan?
