THe folder is read only, so that other programs dont try to alter it.... the game sets the files parameters as it needs to access it, then protects it again afterwards.
There are some other options that may help....
If you dont have the
patch installed yet, please download it and install it... it fixes a long list of problems.
Are you shutting down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) before starting the game?
Try deleting the files in the dynamic folders;
'..\Beyond Divinity\Acts\Act1\Dynamic', '..\Beyond Divinity\Acts\Act2\Dynamic', etc.
These folders are used as a cache for the game. Files are created / copied there from the save game folder when you load, and written / copied to those folders when you save a game. The files will be re-created as required the next time you start Beyond Divinity. If there was a corrupt file in those folders, deleting the files should fix the problem.
Some programs can also interfere with the game, so if you are experiencing problems, please disable and quit all programs (including your anti-virus) that is running on your computer. (Check at the bottom right of your screen for the icons of running programs, right click on them and exit / disable all those that you can – in other words, the less icons you can see, the better)
If you are not sure if there are other hidden programs running that may interfere with the game, download and install Spybot. This will remove most unwanted programs that crawled onto your computer without your knowledge and that has negative side effects to your computer’s stability.
Spybot - install and run this Housecall - let this scan your computer. If you have Norton System Works installed.... PLEASE disable it... ESPECIALLY the file managers / protectors, they cause LOADS of problems with saving / deleting and opening saved games...
Hope that one of these helps....
