I'm in the middle of developing a website about games. It's a just a fan site and I'm no web developer. If anyone would like to write any reviews for it, and send me about 4 screen shots, I will credit them with the work.

The site won't be brilliant, because I'm pretty crap at this, but it's a start! PM me for my email addy if you're interested, and thanks in advance And by the way... I'm writing them as well, but there's loads of games to do.

here is a link www.ratch.co.uk

have a look at the Gunman Chronicles review (PC FPS) to get an idea of how I'm doing this.

Not complete, but looks very nice ! Instantly reminded me of the menu screen of the game Homeworld !

Thanks for the positive feedback Alrik. I've only wrote 2 reviews I think. But I'll start adding more and will work on the other menus I've disabled.

Looks like homeworld eh, a great game too. I have it and will review it just to have a look at the game and compare it to my site.

Wish I could make homepages like that one . And I've taken a class of webdesign...

Starts to look very good, xAcesx!! And keep up the good work, xAcesx!
Maybe you could add some good causes add on it? Like the red ribbon for Aids, the pink ribbon for breastcancer etc...? Just a thought, I would do it if I can start my own site.
I wanted to start a website too, but I can't even get it online though. If someone wants to help me with that? I already pay for a site, so the rest will have to come soon

Assuming you're not making fun of me...

I created a site with a Xara Webstyle program and pulled it to pieces to see how it works. Then I used dreamweaver and paintshop to create my site, with what little I had learned. Made loads of mistakes but I'm working through them. I still don't know how to use flash though not tried it yet.

If you look at my site, there's nothing fancy on there. Just all lines and a couple of pictures

Perhaps once the site is more functional. It's just a fan site, stuff like that might be more useful on popular sites, where it can get the attention it deserves

By the way... type free web space into google if you need somewhere to put it.

Hey Aces, look into a program called SWISH. It is an easy way to produce flash effects. I use it myself.

I can't do lines .

A tip is to keep the lower line intact, and not moveing (when you change between FPS and home, you'll see what I mean). Same goes for the window where the FPS's shows up.

Think I've sorted it.Only the top window should move now. Thanks Übereil. If you seen anything else, let me know, but I'm off to work soon

They still move . Try useing pixels instead of % when determing the size of the windows. Don't really mind when the small windows change size, but when the very bottom of the site moves, it... really doesn't look thatgood IMO.

The only window I can see moving between the homepage and the FPS section is the top window with the Update 08-08-05? And only the bottom of it moves. Unless you mean of the reviews? I'll keep looking though

Galadriel, if you have telenet or skynet, you can activate free webspace on it.
If you have telenet i could help you further, have a website on it myself, don't know exactly how to activate it with skynet, but should be easily.

If you have some space on it, you should be able to upload all your pages etc with a ftp program.

That window do move, but that doesn't really matter. It's the line at the bottom of it all, tort of the downside of the frame around the main things. The one below the window where all the fps's shows up. Btw, the left outer line isn't attatched to the rest of the site . It would look better if you moved it slightlly to the right, so it was kind of a complete frame round the whole page.

If I may give some tips:

Don't use swish, there is no need for flash effects, doesn't add a thing to your site, most important is content not how flashy it is.

Maybe workout the colors more, the darkblue is hard to see on a black backgrounds.

Pretty dark, but design is nice, I like the font you are using for the menu at the left.

Merendrious, the font he's using is the same in NWN.

xacesx, as how Draggy put it; the colour of the words in the left-hand menu does need to be brighter. & as for flash, i rather u not put it in unless there are functions that require that technology which normal html can't do.

other than that, the site's pretty nice with the top bar pop-down menu. & i like the font u used for the title. what is it? is it free?
