Well I've been playing it some more and I must say I am hooked. The party aspect is superb. You don't have to watch out after your party too much, just make sure there health is good. The environments are getting bigger (tough I don't think it will give you the same freedom as ). But you have the advantage there aren't many places to get lost. The respawning of monsters is great to let low level party members level up. I do find the village a bit annoying with the bridges and you don't have a global view on the map.
example: I want to go to the inn. if you haven't been there before you can realy spend a long time looking for it if the map was a bit zoomed out you could easily seen its in the north east corner (or what ever corner it is)
I must say I love the skill system. you choose passive skills that unlock active ones. I used to always put my skill points in active skills. but here it force you to choose passive. Now I realise how powerful the passive skills are.
The merchant stuff is also fun. With stuff for different classes (a sort for different classes would have been nice.)
Even though theoreticly the chars are classless you stay with your melee char and don't transform him into a mage. This means your melee char will wear melee armour and your mage a robe. In other RPG I often had a Mage/ranger or Melee/mage char and you would have a char that is a mage wearing heavy armour. In DS2 that is not the case.
A must buy for every one.
By the way what is the best way to distribute skill points chose 1 branch or several.
combat magic exists of fire lightning ... is it best to put it all in fire or lightning or distribute it between the 2??
same with melee. with shield / dual wield / 2 handed . Specialize in 1 tree?
