@ stridar -> sorry i don't know. i no longer have the demo file. maybe someone else can help u with that?
@ Nero -> for obvious reasons, DS2 is better in oh so many ways than the first. it's RPG now. nope, the old one isn't. whatever it is, if u can justify buying the old one, this one is well worth the money. unless u have other games to play, then u should save the money till the game gets cheaper.

hmm well I found the demo on 1 of the magazine dvd's, so I tried it .... graphically it is way better then DS1, and even though I played for an hour or 2, it was fun, but as Shyon mentioned, I have a feeling too that it will become as boring as the first 1, which I never finished. I just got sick and tired of following that spiral path up the mountain, since the RPG element is sadly lacking the quest in DS2 seems to be slightly more advanced and rpg like then DS1, but like I said (and shyon mentioned) it will become boring of that I am reasonably sure.
So to conclude, this is at it's best an Adventure Game, best suited to those who like the Hack & Slash variety, but do not even think that this is an RPG!

on the contrary, my dear Mea, DS2 has a whole lot more quests (can be quite entertaining too) than the nonexistence of quest in DS1. well at least how i felt in DS1 which the quests aren't quest-like at all (just one in fact; finish the game & get it over with).
so far i'm in Act2 of DS2 & the quests get more interesting than the first. don't get your view distorted by the lousy demo (which happens to be the bane of DD as well if we remember). just need getting use to, in fact.
@ Shyon -> hey, since it's your third time playing the game (for other, in order to reach Nightmare level, one has to play through Normal & Veteran), of course it gets bored! but let me ask u; the first time u played it; how did u feel? compared to the first? to DD? to BD? to NWN? anyway, good to hear from u again, buddy.

pkay Jangg, I believe you, in regards to DS2 getting better in Chapter2 etc etc, I dont think it is good enough for me to spent ...what $80.00 AUS on, and having finished the demo it did get more interesting lotsa fedex quests, get this give to him, get that give to her .... and as usual with demo's unique & rare items where all over the place, but it will be a long time coming before there is a game that can beat NWN, and that dear bearded one, is my humble opinion

But when u play first is amazing.

no prob, Mea. i guess my lack of expectation on RPGs of late is rather low, almost none with all eyes on the sub-genre called action RPG.
NWN no doubt was saved by mods, which funnilly enough was the same for DS1 with its siegelets & stuff. the second one is so much better than the first that it deserves acknowledgement. sadly other than technical wizardry, nothing else is new.
u're right, Shyon. the first time is always the best.

[quoteNWN no doubt was saved by mods, which funnilly enough was the same for DS1 with its siegelets & stuff.[/quote] Other than the mods of course, NWN was also saved by SOU and especially by HOTU expansion. the second one is so much better than the first that it deserves acknowledgement. sadly other than technical wizardry, nothing else is new.
u're right, Shyon. the first time is always the best. DS2 has improved on a lot of things, but it also takes a lot of steps backwards from the original game.
