Hello. To my grief, yesterday my sis played divine divinity and oversaved my game. That meens that I lost my save file and days of gameplay. So, for this reason nothing would please me more than somebody sending me a save game. I'd like it similar to my old one, I hope im not demanding too much , well I was about 27level, I just came to verdinst (dont mind the spelling), just scouted around not doing any quests yet out there ( im trying to contact [nocando]. guild to find out about that zanda guy's whereabouts), I've already been in Ionas dungeon and killed that eye-thingy-monster, I've already cleared the orc village, ... oh. I'm a mage So, I really really hope that someone has a similar save game. I would be forever in debt to him :crosses his fingers:
Ahoy there m8y!

Welcome to the forum comy That meens that I lost my save file and days of gameplay. So, for this reason nothing would please me more than somebody sending me a save game. I'd like it similar to my old one I feel really sorry for you but you ask for something quite impossible. I have a lot of savegames but i am playing a warrior woman. You could find someone in the forum playing a mage who is about level 27 but how could you expect that this person has solved exactely the same quests than you or has choosed the same skills than you. If i was you i would play again Divine Divinity since the beginning but using some cheats to acceed to level 27 faster. Don't worry when you play the game for the second time, it's a lot easier. well it doesnt matter if you havent solved exactly the same thing. The thing is, I've played DD a long time ago already, but now I have a new computer and I decided to play it again. So I played... but I would find it hard to start it all over again because of one reason. Dungeons ! They're frustraiting to me. Endless halls with same monsters over and over again and again. I just came through the torture ( well it's not thaaat bad, but still I could not do it again in like few months now ) and then my save game was lost. Thats the reason for all this. But if what I ask is too much, than don't bother, I'll survive. Bye

I did not say it's too much i said "it's quite impossible". I was the first to answer to your post but may be someone else can help you. but I would find it hard to start it all over again because of one reason. Dungeons ! They're frustraiting to me. Endless halls with same monsters over and over again and again. Yep some dungeons are really awful ! IMHO the worst are Iona's dungeon and the sewers. But if you play again the game you don't have to go through the complete dungeons again. For exemple you don't have to do the lowerst parts of Iona's dungeon. For the catacombs it's the same thing, you don't have to visit all the rooms and kill all the monsters. With litle cheats like duplicating gold and potions, you can play the first part of the game very fast. It's only my advice but wait for Raze's advice, he knows the game a lot more than me. Barta

oops, I just saw that I posted this topic in the beyond divinity board and not on the divine divinity. my bad I just might start playing it again, and not going through ALL the dungeons cause I probably wouldn't survive it (mentally):) Hey, do you by any chance know any cheats so it would make it easier for me to advance. I never intended to cheat but now in this position it would help alot. Thanks for your time Bye

Hey, do you by any chance know any cheats so it would make it easier for me to advance. I never intended to cheat but now in this position it would help alot. For playing faster you can get your char stronger since the beginning. I only use small cheats. The duplication cheat (given by Raze) for potions, gold, items (at least 2 items). Left click on the item in your inventory or in a chest. Use the CTRL key and drag the item on the floor. Then type a negative number in the window and type on the enter key. With more gold you can buy a better equipment since the beginning. With a lot of potions you don't have to sleep anymore. To increase your strength drink a lot of strength potions. Later in the game go and see Kirstandalius at Ars Magicana for buying silver vitality charms and silver mana charms. A silver vitality charm gives 80 points of vitality. A silver mana charm gives 80 points of mana. You can also buy skill books at Kirstandalius or MPenzac or Corrina. I could buy 23 different skill books but it was only mage skills and i am a warrior ! If you have only one book or only one charm you can duplicate it like this : Left click on the item and type on the space key. Then click 2 times on the escape key and on the space key again. There are other ways to cheat but i did not try them. Item editor Save editor Have fun Barta PS : Don't forget to stop cheating when you will reach the level 27. oops, I just saw that I posted this topic in the beyond divinity board and not on the divine divinity. A moderator will move your topic in the Divine Divinity section.

You only had the one save, and by the sounds of it, one quicksave? I have all my old saves, but cleared most of Rivertown and Verdistis before entering the castle, so you would have to redo (or miss) some stuff. I'll see where I was around level 27, or what level I was before entering Verdistis. You do not need to join the thieves' guild to find Zandalor (though there are other reasons to join). Rob will flag the sewer entrance to the castle treasure room for you, but you can find it on your own. I played a male warrior, but character appearance and class can be independently changed; Some more hex offsets...Someone else discovered the split stack cheat; I just repeated it a bunch of times. In addition to cheating, iZakaroN's SaveEditor can be used to reassign stat and skill points to adapt a different save to your playing style.

Before entering Verdistis I was level 25, and had done much of the stuff in Rivertown. I pretty much did all the quest in Verdistis, then cleared the Rivertown sewers (doing that first that made rescuing Zandalor easier, BTW) and entered the castle (at level 29). I got out of Iona's dungeon at level 31. Since (IMNSHO) it would probably be better to redo a bit of hack and slash than miss quests, the Verdistis save would probably be the best match, correct? Or would you rather skip Verdistis so you do not have to redo the castle and first level of Iona's dungeon? EDIT Here is a temporary link to a character edited save (now a male wizard named Comy) just before I entered Verdistis
. You will need to use iZakaroN's SaveEditor (or from Kiya's site, with description) to adjust the skills and stat point distribution. At this point, all my loot is in Joram's house, upstairs and down. I started the game before the latest patch was released, so do not drop Finnigan's magic lockpicks on the ground (they will disappear), and do not complete the quest (you can not buy them back). If you do either, they can be replaced using the Lost Items procedure (ignore the first mention of Finnigan's lockpicks, which directs you to a different topic).

Thanks for all help I decided to start again. Yep, i know, im brave :P Hey I got a question. I played Beyond Divinity demo, but I didn't like it much (controling two characters and such). I was just wondering since I love Divine Divinity, would it be worth buying Beyond Divinity ? Bye !

Well the main dfferences are in
1)it is a bit more linear....i.e there is an Act system. 2)the skill system is more complicated. 3)there are more skills avialable. 4)More stats.e.g speed and survival as well as the usual agility, strength 5)There arent many races(no orcs or elves) but new creatures and one new race. 6)You can advance skills buy paying a trainer. 7)Battlefields where there are loads of dungoens/quests to complete(they are optional) 8)Controlling two characters means you can advance them in different disciples..e.g one a mage and another a theif. 9)You will find out alot of about the contintuing storyline. 10) is not set in Rivellon althougth you will visit Rivelon occasonally. 11)There is very little greenery but different landscapes which may or may not appeal to you. 12)There is no reputation as in ..you do have a reputation but it doesnt effect how people treat you. 13) Slightly less item interaction. 14) Different arrow types and more resistances( not just fire resistance but also earth).
Those are probably the differences...well those which i noticed.

Character control gets easier once you get used to it. There were party selection and screen recentre hotkeys added after the demo was created, which addressed the issues I had with that. For the most part you can direct both character to attack and move as one. If you make the secondary character an archer and set them to aggressive, they will attack on their own, and you will mostly only need to manually select targets, or have them move or use a potion, for tough fights. I started with a warrior / warrior combination, with one character switching to archery for strong opponents. Towards the end of the first act, when arrows became more plentiful (with the patch they are cheaper and you can buy as many as you want in the BF) and I got out of areas with lots of skeletons (much more vulnerable to crushing damage from a club or walking stick), I switched full time to a warrior / archer combination. If you just found the party controls unfamiliar, a bit annoying and/or selection hotkeys would help, then it would probably be worth it to buy the game (especially since it is relatively cheap now). If you hate party based games in general, or thought the demo was a PITA, then it would probably not be. Try going through the demo again. If the controls aren't so bad and a hotkey to more quickly and easily select all characters would save a lot of aggravation, then get BD. If the controls start annoying you more than before and you wouldn't bring yourself to finish the demo again on a bet, then skip BD and wait for DD2.
