N'es-ce not tout le one parle de that façon?

No, seulement in my monde.

Franglish aside,

I should really look into the french section... wait, why isn`t there a French Divine section?

Killerzzz

If not the horrible bastardisation of the french language and the climate, Montreal would've been the best city in the world.

Winter: -30 celcius.
Summer: +30 celcius and 80% humidity.
See, I can survive the -30 in the winter, but summer is hell in every way.

French is one of the three official languages of Belgium.

Do not underestimate Scalla. Also, how would you help her by typing your sentences in french?

Like Sweden, sort of. I can survive the summer, but winter is a pain! It's dark and grey too, so I get depressed...

Eheh, indeed, there are three official languages in Belgium: French, Dutch and (a little) German
I come from Brabant Wallon (in the French Communauty)

Yep most of the people have a very poor vocabulary and they really don't care about the grammar rules.

I guess Scalla can understand the english posts.
What it is difficult for us is answering in english in the topics.
Anyway if she needs help she just has to ask for it to DevDict, LaFille, Rythok, Morbo and me.

@ Dev/DATD -> didn't mean to underestimate Scalla (sorry for making u sneeze ), but i thought she may not understand what i wrote as my sentences aren't that easy to understand at times (due to my lousy thought-finger coordination).

sorry, Scalla.

wow! the humidity level's really bad in montreal! i wonder if it's as bad as my place during 'dry' season.

@ Lady Rain -> when's rainy season's coming to SA? it's already starting here in Malaysia, or at least Borneo. yesterday it was raining so so so heavily that the roads were flooded within minutes. wish i could send some of those rain to u.

@ Barta -> it's often native speakers abuse their own language. the same can be said of malay language which isn't spoken in the correct manner by even malays themselves! they often mix it up with splinters of english (sounds very pretensious) & even the 'official' malay language is bastardised with adaptation of english words when there are already native malay words exist. for example; the word budget in malay is 'belanjawan' which the root word is 'belanja', meaning spend. this is not to be mistaken with 'perbelanjaan' which has the same root word but it means expenditure. now the stupid officials that are supposed to uphold the dignity of the language have bastardised it further by adapting the english word budget to 'bajet'. what the nocando is that?

oh why do i get so worked up over this when it's not even my mother (or father) tongue?

It's exactely the same in french.
Too many english words are used when there are already french words meaning the same thing.
At the opposite the new words about computers or internet are "translated" by bastardised french words which do not mean anything in french.

But when i am looking at american TV series, i discover that the american people use french words when they talk and they also look very pretensious.

And if none of them are around, I could help a bit with translation too. I'm 1/2 French.

On the subject of messed up languages....
Know what I find funny?

Often people who speak english normally and who are from an english community, but go to a french school, will speak a more "correct" french grammarly (if they don't fail french class of course ).

But , people who speak normally french and who are from a french community, but go to an english school, will speak a more "correct" english (again, without failing the english class).

Its because the slang from the community does not set into the learnt language. Insteresting huh?

-------------------------------------------------------

Why did I write this in both languages? Well, we're talking about French and English, aren't we? Besides, I had the time to pass. Its late, and I'm not going to bed anytime soon! Who sleeps, honestly?

@ killerz -> u forgot franglish.

@ barta -> do u mean words like rendezvous, deja vu, raison d'etre (i can't remember the pronounciation & spelling ), femme fatale etc ? certain words i know have been used so much that maybe the actual english words are lost? or that english is incomplete in the first place therefore have to import foreign words/terms to improve it?

I was Apollo when I did the male test. Maybe you should try the female test, to see what you end up to be?
