Weird that no topic of this console has appeared yet.
Right now the Tokyo Game Show (TGS) is happening and LOTS of screens are flooding towards the internet.
I'm particulary impressed by thos of the XBOX360 games: Need for speed: Most wanted, Project Gotham Racing 3, Chromehounds, ... and many more.
Who's gonna buy it? I probably will, but not when it launches.. I think i'm gonna wait a bit until the price drops

The biggest news of the TGS is undoughtably the revolution console. The controller is innovative to say the least but this was about 360.
I must say I am not impressed by the next gen consoles. I don't care it has superior graphics. Sure there are some killer games like NFSU:MW but I'll wait till it comes out on PC. I don't like to use analog sticks in my games the control is not as nice as an old fashioned keyboard. So I might try the 3 consoles at some friends house. But I am not going to buy one. Personally I don't like Console games. FSS consoled games suck since the controls are unusable. RTS with no mouse is stressful enough to eat you own hat. The only good games that is controllable are race games and action rpg/adventure games. But since most of them come to PC I don't have a reason to buy a console. If I had to choose a console I pick the revolution since the big N never disappointed me gamewise (altough it's has been since the SNES, but the zelda on N64 at my friend house were superb).
Yes I upgrade my pc every 3 years so the fact that a console lasts 10 years doesn't apply to me.

I only like console games on the XBOX though.. I guess that's because they're leaning closer to PC games. PS2 games also come a bit closer to PC games, but that console has less toptitles imho

Forgot the mouse. Nothing can beat the keybord mouse combo.

I'll probably wait a while before buying a next gen console, there are still many great looking games that will come out soon on the current gen consoles. When the current gen will be dead, the prices will probably have dropped and I'll see which console has the most games I like.
The Xbox 360 is appealing, though, because of the backwards compatibility, there are many games on xbox I'd like to play but I don't have one.

I just sold my Xbox. I'm not sorry I sold it, but I am gonna miss out on Burnout: Revenge.

The Xbox 360 is appealing, though, because of the backwards compatibility, there are many games on xbox I'd like to play but I don't have one. Following earlier indications that the Xbox 360 will only be backwards compatible with some Xbox games, Microsoft has admitted that existing software will need to be recompiled before it can be run on the new console. The problem, it says, is down to hardware incompatibility - since the current Xbox uses an Intel processor, but the 360 will use IBM's PowerPC architecture, while NVIDIA's graphics solution is being replaced with an ATI one.

I don't think I'll be buying an xbox 360...but, I also said I wouldn't buy a PSP, and I love that thing!!
It's too pricy for one, and the cheaper deal (300 euro) is a market ploy to make you seem like you're getting a deal if you buy the dearer 400 euro version.
Why buy the cheaper one? It has no hard drive, which was the Xboxs number advantage over the PS2!
Also, although the games will improve graphically by leaps and bounds...who can say if the gameplay will as well?
Still I'd be more interested in it than the other consoles...particularly that monstrosity of a thing called the nintendo revolution...innovated joy-pad? I could play games better with my DVD remote than that thing...it IS a joke, isn't it?
I love my Xbox, it does what it says on the tin...unlike my PC, even after upgrading it it's almost obselete and new games can't be played on it.
I got used, too, to the joypad FPS controls, and I really like the feel of the analogue sticks when you're sneaking around in Thief 3, killing things in Halo, etc. Plus, its great to have some mates around to play some games...something I'd have a hard time setting up on my PC.
I think I'll leave the 360 alone, and just concentrate on my PSP and current Xbox - haven't bought a PC game in months!

I think I will buy a 360. I just sold my normal Xbox and I don't regret it 1 minute.
though I won't buy it on December 2nd. I'm gonna wait a few months, that way they're hopefully cheaper and the production will be more stable. I just wanna avoid having ANOTHER unstable XBOX. Mine was terrible

i wont buy next-gen consoles, but for what ive seen, the nintendo revolution is the most impressing 1. though xbox 360 comes out earlier and the graphics are good for sure (no rev screens yet) . the new controller could be the beginning of a new gaming expierience followed by virtual reality...

Well, I don't like nintendo in general, but I just can't see me having any fun with THAT BS controller. I might be revolutionary, it looks stupid and it doesn't appeal to me as in "come play a game".
nah, I'm going for the 360. I don't like M$ either, but I don't like the games being released on PS (1, 2 or 3) so that's why I will buy a 360.

I just watched the video demonstration of nintendos new controller. All I can say is that apart from it looking like plastic nun-chucks craved by a blind man, it must get very tiring having to hold it up towards the screen, and move it about all the time.
Its far more comfortable to rest a joypad on your lap and enjoy a relaxing game of anything than to be flailing around like a muppet and smacking player 2 in the face!! (Though maybe that would be fun!!! Hmmmmm )
Nah it's pants!
Xbox is cool, but the girlfriend might object to another "game thingy" in the house!

Yeah, that nintendo controller looks very stupid and tiresome.
Hey Plowking, try to sell some game-thingies before buying the 360. I sold my 'normal' xbox and I don't regret it, only not being able to play burnout revenge ATM is kinda painfull.
though I got Dungeon Siege2 and Fable: TLC. after that it's fahrenheit time !! and Black and White 2, the movies, FEAR, ...

I will buy the Xbox 360, but a few months after it comes out. Then the $$ will be down. Hehe.
I also truely hope the the 360 will be more stable the the original. My first one eventually suddenly stopped working, so I returned it. My second one eventually ejected any game after a few minuits (if it let it in at all), so I returned it. My current one is actually new.
Yea so, BE STABLE MR. 360!
I'm actually worried about rumors that alot of RPGs will be internet only, that means I'd have to buy Xbox Live . I don't wanna!
Oh well, thats why I'll wait before buying.
Killerzzz
