What does cléf or clef mean ?
Clé ou Clef (it's the same word with 2 spelling) means "key" in english.

I have had only one year French, but 4 years Spanish language, so I know a bit about Latin-based languages. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> That knowledge is what i use here. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
Also, I try to actually "feel" myself into what is written here, the language and the context, of course. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> This "ffeling into something" works on an rather emotional level, and - what's more important - with Intuition ! My Intuition tells me in a very subtle way very much about what is meant here.
To put it short : I use a combination of my both learned Latin-based languages, my general language skill, and Intuition in combination with emotion, and, most importantly, the context. I personally believe that the context is the most important of all these things.
That's basically what I do as well, when I try to read into the netherlands/flemish section of this forum. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" /> If you've learned more that one language (apart from xour own), you also learn some very basic "rule-sets" of how language is made up, in general. Through training, you can use it a bit.
