I myself made some multiplayer deathmatch levels for Half Life 1, but I guess that's totally different from an RPG editor. (I made them for mini-lans for me and my brother/nephews, but I don't have them anymore. I lost them somehow.)
I am in blood Stepp'd in so far, that, should I wade no more, Returning were as tedious as go o'er.

But... you're supposed to vote potatoe !!! I've never experienced with an editor, but it seems like fun, so I might try it, if I get the chance (especially since I'm thinking of becomeing a game developer...). Übereil

And like in M&B where you have no editor at all but the community figered out very much

Half Life 1 is 3d. Still, I imagine making a shooter is very very different from making an RPG, even if they are both in 3d.

Have a look at this poll and vote for an editor in Divinity 2. Barta

Maybe it was one of the Larians who wanted to thwart our call for an editor

Someone might not want an editor if they thought it would delay the release of the game. It would take longer initially to develop a user friendly editor (assuming Larian is no longer using proprietary programs as part of the process, which they can not distribute), but once it was done it should save some time implementing the game design (though that may or may not make up for the extra time making the editor). Alternately, whoever voted 'no' could think amateur mods in general are not worth trying, or were just being contrary.

I don't care if some people vote no. I am just expecting a lot of people would vote in the poll. Someone might not want an editor if they thought it would delay the release of the game. It's the same problem with the multiplayer mode. It will delay the release of the game and a lot of people will never use the multiplayer mode. Barta

Multiplayer support is seen as a must-have feature for a lot of reviewers and many players (especially those coming from the action RPG or MMORPG parts of the RPG spectrum, or from RTS or FPS games). Dropping multiplayer might speed up the release, but probably at the cost of less sales and therefore less chance (or slower release) of additional RPGs from Larian. An editor would probably have much less of an impact on sales (and reviews, for that matter), and the effect would be a while after release, when the price has dropped and people have had time to create additional content.
In any case, this is irrelevant to whether or not an editor is wanted.

Multiplayer might be important to some people, but for a RPG I think it's not needed. I enjoy a RPG most playing singleplayer: just me and my character(s).
