For some reason, Anti vir causes my wife's computer to refuse to boot ever since the last update. I uninstalled it (in Safe mode--the only mode I could boot into) and installed AVG and thus far all seems well. She has ME, and before anybody complains about ME, the machine has inadequate memory to support XP and is too old to justify upgrading.
