And the cars, lost in the drift are there
And the people that drive, lost in the drift are there
And the cares I've lost in the drift are there
Theirs, ours, lost in the drift are..

Driven
Driven together
And driven apart

Xbox murder trial to begin

4/11/2006 11:15:34 AM, by Eric Bangeman

The trial of three defendants accused of killing six people over an Xbox is set to begin next week. Troy Victorino, 29, Robert Cannon and Michael Salas, both 20, and Jerone Hunter, 19, are accused of beating six acquaintances to death with aluminum baseball bats during Victorino's attempt to reclaim an Xbox that he left behind after being kicked out of a house he had been squatting in. One of the victims apparently took the Xbox and some of Victorino's other belongings with her when she moved out. Cannon has pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the attacks, and will be testifying against the other three in exchange for a life sentence. The other three defendants face the death penalty...

With the topic of videogame violence and its possible real-world ramifications a hot topic of conversation these days, the trial is already drawing a lot of media attention since an Xbox was involved. It could just as easily be a laptop, a TV set, or a stereo that occasioned the killings. This is not videogame-related violence. This is "someone has some of my stuff and I'm going to kill them in the process of getting it back" violence.

Origin of the Easter Egg
Quote
In Europe, during the early 1800’s, Chocolate was all the rage. It was the treat of choice for most middle and upper class denizens. Chocolatiers sought to use the image of the egg as a way to celebrate Easter and sell their products.

The symbol of the egg, which was already being used in Easter festivities at this time, had been a pagan symbol representing fertility and re-birth in pagan times. It had been adopted as part of the Christian Easter festival and it came to represent the ‘resurrection’ or re-birth of Christ after the crucifixion and some believe it is a symbol of the the stone blocking the Sepulcher being ‘rolled’ away. It was during this time the first chocolate Easter egg appeared in Germany and France and soon spread to the rest of Europe and beyond.

Off-Topic
By Killerzzz <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

The topic is off, and I lay
on the topic of which I speak.
And as I am on the topic of being off-topic,
I will let the tropic topic of bananas get in the
way.
Of what you say?
"No rhymes, I pray." Okay.
Bananas of this topic, topic of bananas,
are oft green to yellow
to brown n' black.
Bananas are rich in potassium.
What of that? That topic would be newer, and on this one
for wich reason
I cannot
continue.
So off-topic I have gone and will go,
further than the topic of where I am thus far.
And I will ask how far off-topic is my topic for that which I speak and respond
and I will see how on topic I am before I choos to off it--
that is, the topic-- and move to the next.
I remain on the topic of the off topic,
and continue as such, all the while being
off-topic forever.

Just like to point out that I will be posting much less often.

I've been busy of late, and it doesn't seem to be letting off soon.

I see y'all whenev' I can.
