I'd like to put skill point into damage reflection.
How does it work?
What kind of damage will be reflected (melee/ranged/magic)?

The Reflect Missiles skill works with ranged and magic attacks. I tested it briefly; it does help kill archers and mages, as well as let you more quickly identify exactly where they are, but I found it easier and quicker to just run over and hit them. Flash Attack may be a better option if you are trying to cut down on having to chase after opponents.

I think Repel Damage just works on melee attacks, since there is a similar skill for ranged attacks and the passive damage skills in the skill path with Repel Damage are melee only. I did not test it, however.

Explanation in the manual:

Repel Damage (Passive) - Some of the force behind your opponent's attack is sent back to him.

Reflect Missiles (Passive) - Any missiles fired at you are reflected back to your opponent.

In other words, if you take both, no enemy can hurt you without hurting him/herself. I never tried it, but if you think about it, it actually sounds like a good way to invest skillpoints. Maybe next time.

well, i had both of them maxed out and when a elite crossbow orc was shooting at me only 2 damage was sent back. its not that effective i guess
unless its calcuated of how much damage it does against you and the general damage.

Well, it can't send too much damage back of course, but if it's really as ineffective as you just illustrated, I don't think I'll bother.

Yes, one you've got a decent level and decent equipment, a lot of creatures go down before they have a chance to hit you.
