I don't think you need it later.
You should be able to get the item, or any other items that unluckily land in a wall, with the telekenisis skill. Now, you may not want to put skill points into this spell because its not that useful. So, you can go and shop at the store in the little town to the north east of the map (I forget the name). There is a book seller there, and you can quicksave, then load until he has a telekenisis book.
