*** Super-Duper Cliff's Notes version -- RPG Developers: Stop creating "open ended, epic-scale" time-consuming worlds while ignoring the people that only have 10-30 minutes a night to play *and progress* in your game, i.e. the much sought-after, "casual," "mainstream" player. ***

I may only have 30 minutes to devote to gameplay on any given night and it may take me that long just to remember where I was and what I was doing within the game, much less make any further progress. So rather than spend 30 minutes accomplishing very little, I simply choose not to play the game at all until I have several hours to devote to it.

Not to be rude but I think this guy is confused. The first quote makes no sense at all and is what the whole article is about. The second quote makes total sense and is the answer to all his problems.

Any added entertainment he might want, will only add +hours to already long games. So do you think turning Oblivion into a +200 hour game will solve his problem? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/stupid.gif" alt="" />
