Oh, on a note, when I play an RPG I want to be able to "play" it, and I don't want to have to "waste" time growing carrots (or whatever). Things that can turn into interesting mini-games (like the persuationsystem in Oblivion, or tradeing) while not takeing too much time can be nice additions to make the game more varied though. But you'll have to remember that these mini-games is "add-ons" and it's the story/characterinteraction/general gameplay that is the main thing.
