As I was thrown out of Stormfist Castle I tried to get my piramid (i had left it near the gate) and while i was trying to get near it i found a way to return there - i dont know whether it will work on other versions and such, but i can tell you how i did that (it still works, i did that second time!).
You just go sticked to the left side of the gate exactly before the place the guard tells you that you must go away. And then you go to the centre of the gate and then quickly to the left.
