before i post my opinion on this issue, firstly i want my aussie & american larian buddies to know that i am not anti-american not anti-aussie.
now back on topic;
when i first read the of reaction of aussie leaders & politicians, as well as the global situation of death sentence, i can't help myself but laugh. laugh at the stupidity of it all.
first & foremost, that certain stupid i-know-it-all aussie politicans, like that ex-PM for example, why don't they bawl & shout & scream in horror at their ally, USA, which the current president is from death-penalty state, Texas, that has the highest (if not among the highest) recorded death sentences in the whole of USA? so THERE!! that's because no aussie has been put to death in that state yet. if there is, i wonder how would Australia (the people) would react to that as i'm sure the politicians would normally turn their heads away & have their eyes blind.
& as for singapore & malaysia as well having death sentences, well i hope this is yet another warning (time & time again) to all foreigners: come here if u want to have fun, else leave all your sins at home. u know, just like the normal policy u have when u go to bars & pubs; leave all your problems at the door & u're welcomed. let this be yet another lesson to all, foreigners or not; don't ever ever do drugs or get caught with it here. there is very little chance u'll be released once the court says u're guilty.
well before all of u say that i'm pro-death penalty, i am in fact against a human taking the life of another, no matter how u justify it. BUT this is how malaysia & singapore handle drug trafficking, so might as well accept the fact that these countries hang pushers.
anyway, i hope in time, malaysia will push to a better direction in impose instead life sentence as it has been shown in china that even authorities make mistakes or pressured to get a scapegoat that they would force someone to plea guilty & then go for prosecution. as of late, malaysian police force is under tremendous pressure (it's about time too) due to forcing chinese (as in from China) women to undergo illegal (lawfully & not according to proper police procedure) strip search. i for one, desperately wish that this will bring about major changes (for the better) in malaysian police force.
