does anyone have any suggestions for creating a survivor/summoner? which stats/skills should be improved? or is this type of character even worth it? lol...

thanks!

I'm not experienced with that kind of character, but the first thing that comes to mind is: if you want to be a summoner, wouldn't it be better if you chose the mage? If you're going to summon alot, you're going to need a character that's a good spellcaster!

thanks for the reply!

i just wanted to know if it is possible to create a survivor who is lethal with a bow, but who can summon creatures to back him up...

i figure the bow skills will be good for keeping down the mana costs of a wizard, while allowing me to snipe enemies, who would be preoccupied with my summoned creatures...

so basically i won't be using that many survivor or wizard skills... what do you think?

it really depends on your difficulty level...
If you are playing on Hard, then i don't suggest your survivor becoming summoner, because the creatures you summonned are far too easy to be killed in seconds... and maybe you'll busy casting Restoration on your creature rather than shooting arrows on your enemies. UNLESS you 'happen' to purchase some summoning skill spellbooks or have some itmes with bonus to summoning skills, that will be different.

I'm using a Lv25 warrior and i 'happen' to buy 3 Resurrect spellbooks from the merchant (I got 2 from the mage and 1 from Blake- I almost patronize them everyday!) --> So, i can use Lv5 resurrect. Right now I have 2 Elite Orc Chiefs and the Engineer from the cursed abbey fighting by my side! They all have an average of 2500+ hitpoints and are hard to die. I realise that this can be more useful than summoning which i intended to do so at the start.
Alas, the downside of resurrection is that Your character won't be able to sleep at all!

P/s: the Engineer won't die when you sleep and it doesn't count as one summoned creature (right now i only have Lv2 aura of command)

Aura of command is bugged. If you have two levels you can take over as many creatures as you want irrc. Put a point in Deadly Gift and you can lay scorpion traps. Take over them with aura of command and you've got a 100 death scorpion following you around and killing your enemies <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />.

I believe a few people playing archers have found Skeletal Wall, etc useful to help keep opponents at a distance, or at least slow their approach.
