why dosen't my weapon damage move up when i give my hero a new weapon? it stays the same even with a one hand weapon or two hand weapon an, even a crossbow

I'm not sure what you mean exactely. The damage you do will only increase if the weapon does more innate damage and/or if your hero gains strength.
