Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks hard choice

I have tried several times for a good holy sword.
I had two very good ones.

sword1: Charm:1, dam 21-50, +6str, +40 vitality, +80 magic
ligthning(2), fire(5), life drain(4), poison(5)

sword2: charm:1, damage 41-70, +4str, +2 offense, +20 magic
fire(4), lightning(4), mana drain(2), life drain(4)

Witch one would you choose?? Please give me some advice.

BTW: i choose the second one now and have nearly finished the game. (i have to say i have lvl 5 freeze with the skills).

I'd take sword 2. Even if sword 1 has poison and the imps have low poison res. Why don't you carry both and alternate?

I'd definatly take sword 2, it may not boost you're stats as much but if you have lifedrain and manadrain it makes life sooooooo much easier. i'd reload and go for sword 3 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />
but since that would be to far back for you, then sword 2 would do just fine <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

i agree with everyone else, sword two is the better choice

..but since i'm using spells far more i'm going to get a holy amulet <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />

I'd take sword 2 also. Life drain and mana drain can't be beat.

I got an amazing holy amulet when I got it for my mage.

Number two is the better sword, but I usually go for the Amulet too. The Holy Sword will almost certainly be superceded later in the game, the Amulet won't.

i did that like over and over to see the best result:
reloading 35 times gave me to see that the best damage of a holy sword will be

71 to 100 damage (not more) but that's good no !
and when you do this, though it takes long, you can compare all the 71-100 damage swords for best stats ( i found 3 of em out of all my reload attempts which i saved individually to choose the best one), but i must warn you that getting a 71 -100 damage sword WITh frost is pretty hard ( i gave up on that after trying A LOT), though you can get other very nice stats !

i would agree with all these folks...but I would also add that you may want to find a sword with frost...nothing i repeat nothing beats frost!

Totally agree with NeroJB. Nothing beats FROST. Got at mace 88-99 dmg. + 5 FROST. Perfect i think. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/up.gif" alt="" />
