I've noticed that as I progress in the game it takes longer to load my saves. I think it's because of all the clutter that gets added to the items.000 file. I removed the file from one of my saves and it loaded in 1/3 the time. Unfortunately this means none of my items had any stats. Is there a way to clean up the file and remove the entries that are no longer needed so it doesn't take so long?
