A small earthquake on Anzsac Day, 25-Apr-2006, caused a cave-in in a gold mine in Beaconsfield, Tasmania. Three men were trapped in the rubble. Two days later, they found the body of the first one at the controls of a machine. The machine was blocking further access into the tunnel. They came in from another direction. A week after the earthquake, they made radio contact with the other two
survivors. After drilling a pipeline to the men to give them supplies, they spent the next week drilling a new tunnel to rescue the men. They walked out fit and healthy at 6:00am this morning.
