Warlock sounds more like the socrerer in Diablo 2 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />.

But as you say, he won't get that many spells. But if you go for those "usefull in all situations" spells (dispell?) and don't only get dmgspells you'll have a pretty decent caster. And if it is like with the sorcerer in NWN1 (where you could change what spells you have every level up) it's great. When you don't need one spell because you'll get a simillar but better spell (cone of cold=>greater cone of cold), you can change the old spell to something that will be more usefull (because if you have greater cone of cold and can cast it as much as you like, why cast the old cone of cold?).

All to all, it's a new class with different advantages and drawbacks, which will probablly become really powerfull if you plan him right (hehe if he can get lvl 10 spells he can spam weird or whail of the banshee <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" />).
