If you avoid entering the BF during the first of the necromancer's tasks, do you still have a problem with the game crashing? AFAIK there shouldn't be an issue entering the BF from the cursed abbey, though.

Have you restored a copy of those folders? They should not have been effected by any editing or file swapping done with other saves.

Do you mean moving the screen focus away from the characters, or splitting your characters up?
The problem with the black mini-map sounds like a known issue in the BF with the fog of war occasionally being reset (it should clear again in largish blocks as you run around).
