Well maybe you are over estimating how far they are (or under estimating the work to create such a game). We know they are working hard and that they have a lot of work ahead of them.
That said, I do agree that some thing should be posted to know that they are still alive. It doesn't even have to be about the game. Just an interview with Lar about "the future evolution of RPG's", "what kind of technology is being used (example Procedural Game Content)" or Lar answers one Yes/no question from some one (mine is Do you like cofee?).Something like that will do (Lar is the Belgian Will Wright). Just something like that would do since I am of the judgement that gamers don't know what they want. (Nintendo's wii proved that).
Then again I think we don't know everything Larian does. Larian could be working on games that are not under the Larian name or other projects to ensure a stable cashflow.
But take comfort in the fact that they are working hard. Rather a good game then a rushed game. I rather wait 5 years for a good game than 5 months for a bad one. It looks like thay are going back to the roots (that was 9 years in development )
We don't know the internal workings of larian, for all we knwo the game could be 99% finished or have they started from scratch for the 3rd time. All we know is that they will release it when they think it is finished and not a moment sooner. We haven't even heard what publisher they will use.
