The hex teleport topic describes how to teleport to the act 1 exit stairs. It also shows you how to find the character data section for the hero and DK. I don't recall if I tried this in BD or not (I have with DD), but you should be able to replace everything from the 'new npc' term above the location coordinates down to the next 'new npc' term with the corresponding section from a different data.000 file.

The topic below would allow you to further edit the character data, and add any skills missed by skipping one or more acts. You may also be able to replace the entire SkillsV section with that from a different save.
