There might be more to WoW as many might think.
Offcourse for many it's just an item-crazed grinding fest. Or you could become a master at PvP. But there's a lot of roleplaying going on, there are no narrators but many Guilds on RP and RPVP servers have strict RP rules, ignore the character names displayed on players, organize many RP events. The reason I play WoW is plainly cause of friends, but the reason I stuck to it is not getting level 60 and having all Epic items, but the idea of growing my character in the world in roleplaying style.
I've played Guildwars shortly but it all seemed little uninspired, I didn't feel part of the world. To me GW is a RPG that gives you the chance to form online parties to do an 'instance' with, but more than few towns there was no real world life.
Darkfall does seem interesting, I'll have to see what it becomes, how much roleplaying will be done.
