After finishing Darkstone and its cardboard box levels, I needed a game with more atmosphere. So here I am playing Vampire Redemption.

I don't remember this game being as hard as it is now. I had no problems with the demo and got use to the clunky character control with a full party right from the start.

Was there difficulty levels before the patch, because I don't remember?

Anyways, I patched the game and it seemed to work. Could save anywhere so I figured all other features were fine. Until I got to this one boss and kept dying all the time. I'm guessing it was Mercurio because I deleted the game and I am not really sure now. Also the patch mentioned they tweaked down Mercurio's stats.

Another reason I question the patch is because I un-checked auto cast buffs for party members. This is what hurts me before fighting the boss. My party member kept buffing himself for simple fights and was wasting blood mana. I only had a couple bottles for each which didn't help my cause.

The patch also mentions that certain disciplines may not work properly for a short period of time with the new save system. This happens from loading a save and you shouldn't do it in an area if disciplines are needed immediately. Well, where else are you going to save before fighting a boss.

I like everything about this game besides party members wasting blood mana when there isn't enough to go around yet. So I reinstalled and used the patch once again. It sucks starting over but I don't want to give up on this game yet.

Has anyone else experienced problems that the patch didn't seem to fix?

I don't remember being stuck so early in the game before and question myself if I was playing it un-patched the first time. It's been so long, again I don't remember. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ouch.gif" alt="" />
