That's exactly why I like horror!

Horror always goes for atmosphere. Good atmosphere is what puts you in the mood of the game. Then it's the mood that makes you feel like you are role playing.

Redemption isn't scary horror but the story line is so cool. They just lay it on a bit heavy in the beginning how two characters love each other. I love you, I love you more, I love you even more than that, blah, blah, blah.

But other than that, the story is really solid giving that stronger sense of purpose.

The areas in the game are done very well, there is no denying that. It's not like I didn't care for Prague, because after all it is what kept me playing the game. It was me trying to figure out the character formula that distracted from enjoying the game more.

Now that I am in Vienna, I'm seeing even cooler stuff that makes me happy I stuck with the game.

Edit:

about RPGs but still talking horror.

I just checked out the demo for Sanitarium and this looks like another good game that I missed out on. It's point and click classic adventure style and the game seems twisted.

I was never impressed with the screenshots but after playing the demo, the game seems solid. The voice acting is a little stale but there is definitely atmosphere in the game.

Of course you have to like old school adventure to get into the game.
