I didn't know much about the mercenaries so I kept the first one I got. It's Aliza who uses cold arrows and she seems to do good damage. She is all leveled up and I always keep her equiped with a very fast attack speed.
I searched around for more info on the mercs, wish I did this earlier because I might have made a different choice. Seems some have pretty good elemental damage. Also the one that has a aura sounds cool if it can help my summons.
But since I am attached to Aliza I think I will keep her.
I was just reading that someone suggests to equip your merc with the opposite damage weapon. I am going to give that a try and see how it works out.

Two-hand damage 4 to 8 (I'm guessing this is why it was so cheap)
Adds 1-108 lightning damage
Adds 8-18 fire damage
When she holds it, the damage shows 45-175 in yellow.
I got real lucky in buying this weapon because it was dirt cheap. The first bow was a drop and better than the socket bow I had her using.
Not sure how the new bow will work but I like the over all stat.
