I'm just in despair. I got the quest for the Demon's Bane Gem from the Rebel Elder, got the gem, went to the Temple Smith, got the ore quest, got the ore, had the smith make the sword, then headed happily back to the Rebel Elder.

BUT - he just keeps giving me the quest! Every time I speak to him I get the quest from the beginning except that it's not in my Quest Log any more.

Can anyone help me, please? Or do I have to go back to before I entered the Rebel Camp and start all over again?????!!!! Which will be the THIRD time ...

All these Quest Log problems are just robbing the game of all enjoyment, I'm really getting fed up now.

Sorry folks, I solved this thanks to the great site posted by lynn - Desdemona's website.

The solution was to drop the items - immediately the Quest Log had the quest, and I could give the items to the Rebel Elder.

However, I repeat that this sort of thing detracts enormously from one's enjoyment of the game. I'm now paranoid about the wretched Quest Log, I keep checking and re-checking it anxiously. Horrible.

Could you drop the items anywhere, or did you have to drop them in the caves where you found them.

I have the gem and the ore......and NOW I get the quest from the Elder. When I go to the Smith in the north part of the Temple Merchant's building, he doesn't even ask me if I'd like a sword made. SIGH.

Help?

For anyone finding this in a search again, it should not matter where you drop quest items; it is the process of removing them from the inventory and picking them up again which should hopefully fix issues with the game/NPCs not registering that you have the relevant item(s).
