When I heard the first rumours of windows Longhorn I was ecstatic finally a new M$ OS . But then the news articles of cuts being made to get the product done on time started to come in.

No big deal at least they will have a improved security policy. But the last articles really left a bad taste.

It seems that the licence is modified. Now the software packet you buy in the store (that is way more than a OEM license ) is only good for 1 pc. What is the difference with XP you wonder. XP license says only one pc at the same time. So you can upgrade or replace your pc and still use your XP license if you make sure the old pc is formatted (no XP on it). With vista this would be impossible. I am a computer enthusiast and I upgrade some pc parts every 3 moths. So if Vista detects a hardware change and decides it is a new pc good buy license.

So why spend 200$++ on a license while a OEM license is 20%-50% cheaper?

Vista doesn't care about PC-enthusiast <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/disagree.gif" alt="" />

/has ubuntu running as second OS
//If only MAC OS worked on every PC <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" />
///Hopes MAC OS for every PC is released at the same time as vista if there is a god <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
