LOL standard reply to any new MS product is " I'll wait for service pack 2" <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ROFL.gif" alt="" />

Yes, normally they should run on both OS. Or he is speaking about his system specs <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

You know, I think they were trying to emulate Linux's security system but they did it really badly. I mean good gods... I've never had to endure clicking so many pop-up windows in my life! As opposed to say, Linux, where most of the time, if you want to grant access to a program or script, you use sudo commands with the admin password in Terminal.

I'm finding Vista quite nice to use - had a couple of teething problems but almost everything has run fine.

I had to turn off teh UAC security thing though - I could live with the annoying pop ups, but I couldn't live with it actually preventing programs from installing or working after installing. If it didn't require a restart when turning on or off, I wouldn't be too bothered and I'd leave it on.
