no actually cus it safer, and I'm harder to see in trees.

I'm afraid of spiders on the ground Dragh, remind me never to invite you to my place, I allow spiders to hibernate in my flat - when days grow warmer I carefully let them out. Kiya

Nero: There is an old boy scout phrase = look at every creature carefully and you will find its beauty. Spiders are elegant - look at the way they walk, the wonderful delicacy of their cobwebs. I specially love Tarantulas - a colleague's boyfriend bred them - they're really beautiful. And I once held one of them in my palms - it didn't bite me. Maybe I'm more the biology type?
Ah, and snakes, they're my second favourites. Though I know when to keep my distance. Guess, it has to do with my years as a child in tropical regions. Animals here in Europe are a bit dull compared to the varieties there. I recall an incident when I watched a cobra preying on a frog fascinated - until my stepfather came to chase her away. I must have scared him to death - good company for you <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />?
But to reassure you: The only animals I'm really scared of are birds. Dunno why, guess, I was attacked by one of our budgies as a toddler. It's very difficult to force down my fear when I try to save them from cats - after that I've got strong trembling fits. Kiya

don't save birds from cats, that's unecological.
Cats have to hunt otherwise they get lame and fat and stuff..
Cats are a elegant species not spiders, the way they can jump into a wall and run vertically up the wall to ket on top of it.

I like cats too but they make me sneeze and itch my face. We had a beautiful spider (several actually) who was [color:"yellow"]yellow with [color:"black"]black markings out at a place we have in the 'country' who would make her web 'dance' if she felt threatened. We always relocated her to a tree or something if she was to close to where we had to walk though. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />
She can't stay in my house though! No roaches either <shiver>. Uugh! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/suspicion.gif" alt="" />

Dragh: don't save birds from cats, that's unecological. I disagree: Abandoning cats somewhere, so they become strays, reproduce themselves and threaten to kill too many birds = that's unecological. Kiya That's why I catch strays and let the vet castrate them - balance in nature is important, Dragh.

I'm guessing that they were one of the following: - shapeshifters, disguising themselves as imps because they knew imps would be hard (i.e., impossible) to find,
- disguised by an illusion spell (for the same reason),
- not disguised, but your perception or memory of the event was manipulated by magic or a potion (e.g., Charm, Forget, Suggest, Hallucination, etc.), or
- your family was not killed, but the trauma of their kidnapping was too much for you -- you constructed a post-traumatic adaptive alternate reality that was easier for you to deal with
I will help you find the culprits. Furthermore, if your family is still alive, I will help you find them. BG <amateur psychologist, sleuth, and historian>
