Me, I'm often having weird thoughts. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />
Recently, I was walking through Cologne, and I saw a shop selling furniture. In a window, there was what looked like kind of a deer, but completely made out of "wired" very thin twigs, maybe from willow trees.
Well, I thought : This could/would be an idea : Kind of an animated creature, purely magical, or even an "elemental of nature", consisting only of twigs that are bent so that they give the whole thing the look of an deer.
The antlers of that deer I saw in that window were looking as if they could be very pointy and sharp in that fantasy creature. The creature would then attack that it moves its head towards the enemy, and would try to ram the opponent with its head - with the sharp, pointy horns into the belly of the opponent.
It might try to run from a distance towards the enemy, in kind of a warm-up (gaining more speed meanwhile).
Solutions to defend this "nature elemental", as I call it (idea partly taken from one Shannara book) would be to jump aside when the creature is near, and cut its horns (very much like Luke Skywalker cutting the "head" of the imperial Speeder Bike in "Return of the Jedi"). Or to ban it with a spell that lets elementals become part of the element again, from which they were created.
However, since this creature is made of parts of nature (trees), it should be at least neutral, which means it could be summoned from both sides : Evil and Good. However, I'm leaning towards this creature being a "good" one, and thus to be summoned by peoples who live rather in harmony with nature (I'm not neccessarily saying "Elves", because i can imagine a lot of peoples living in harmony with nature in one way or another, but Elves could be an option).
