Of course, you can become a vegetarian and thus not participate nor contribute to animal cruelty.

edit: For the record, I am not a member of PETA nor an activist of any sort. I do not however eat any meat, fish, poultry or eggs.

I hope this is not a thread hijack. I believe that it is relevant to the concerns over cruel practices involved in racing greyhounds.
