From what I've heard (Genesis-Platinum Collection, which is basiclly all of Genesis singles so far) Phil Collins is a better singer than Peter Gabriel. Besides, lyrics took a major step forward for Genesis after PG left.
But I doubt Genesis would have been what they were in the 80's if PG had stayed...
