Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Help/Tips/Tricks bug with counsil of the seven quest plz help

I gathered all council members, when I click that gong, cutscene starts, and it ends with Zandalor (Sp?) cursing duke/demon. after that I'm just returned to playable screen in the same location. game interface and controls are same as when you are killed in the game, like you see interface, buttons etc, but cant move or change spells,or drink potions.
I think game was supposed to teleport me somewhere after this cutscene,instead I'm stuck in council chambers.
am I supposed to wear some magic item to protect me from counsel members/zandalors lighting attacks in cutscene? or is it just a bug, and is there anyway to fix this bug? I tried reloading older savegame, had to do that elf counsil member quest again, but I got the same results as with first save game.

Put the play CD (or DVD) in an optical drive, reload the save and hit the gong again. The no-CD hack can not handle the cutscene video played at that point (same with the final cutscene at the end of the game).

With the patch installed (some re-release versions of the game may already be updated to the latest 1.0034A version, as shown in the bottom right corner of the main menu, so would not need to be patched), there is a configuration file edit which will eliminate the need for the play CD, except of course for the blessing ceremony and end video (same as the no-CD hack).

I guess I'll have to reinstall/patch game as I don't have the original patched game.exe, I always use no/cds to avoid scratching cds. never happened this kind of thing before.
