Fallout 3, huh? I haven't finished Fallout 1 yet, since I stopped playing it about 2 years ago.

Hmmm... I've a feeling that this game is going to turn into yet another "graphic galore but low on plot" sort of game.

Given that it's Bethsada, I'd like to question their abilities and experience in creating a post-apocalyptic game. Haven't they created mainly fantasy games like Oblivion, Dagger Falls, etc.? If they're lacking in experience, then it is highly possible they might "draw from" various action games instead. Whether that transits into an immersive gameworld, will depend on the final product.

Furthermore, since this is a rather well-known series, expectations would be quite heavy considering the various aspects of the F1 and F2. And fan opinions might be kinda harsh given the success rate of Fallout: BOS.

Finally, from what I've heard about F3, it appears to be nothing but full of shiny graphics and massive explosions. It also seems like the characters are really bland too. There's nothing wrong with swearing but if every character does it for no rhyme or reason, then it's poor characterisation. And again, nothing wrong with immersive graphics but if the plot is paper-thin, then it seems they've messed up the game.

P.S. I've not played Oblivion but isn't the game more about player freedom than about plot? And Bethsada's "38 character per line" limit sounds hilarious for a game like Fallout where some of the characters in F1 really talked quite a bit(last I recalled, that is. I could be wrong).
