Larian Studios Forums Divine Divinity (English) Technical Problems Problem with Patch. Also Character Disappearing.

<span class='standouttext'>Spoiler : </span><span class='spoiler'> </span> I downloaded a patch of this website, or it was planet divinity, anyway, I have the Replay game versio which is the cheaper version we have in Australia. It only has one disc and it's a cd-rom, not a dvd, which is what the patch iformation told you to look at.

The problem is, once I install the patch, then start the game, it asks me for disc 3, I only have one disc for the whole game and it is a full version cd. Can anyone help with this problem.

My other problem is, when I go down into places like dungeons etc, my character will dissapear. I see his marker on the map, but I can't locate him or don't know what to press to home in on where he is. I know there must be something I can do that doesn't include installing the 1.33 patch, that stuffs me up. If I install the patch, then I can't play as I only have a single disc and it wants number 3, which I don't have, so what the heck do I do about these problems and bugs.

Are you sure about that? If may be in a CD jewel case, but the game files will not fit on a single CD.

If you re-install the game it should fix the problem about asking for the third CD. After that, check the version number listed in the bottom right corner of the main menu; the latest version is 1.0034A. The DVD version is already updated, as are most recent re-release CD versions, so would not need the patch.


There is a configuration file edit to skip the intro videos (see here), which you may want to do after you have seen them at least once.
With the latest game version, this will also eliminate the need for the Play CD, except for a couple cases (the blessing ceremony, after hitting the gong late in the game, and at the end of the game). These are the same limitations as with the no-CD hack.

Check if your Caps Lock key is enabled. Caps Lock, or holding down the Shift key, allows you to move the screen focus away from the character (ie to see or toss stuff further), but can result in the focus not following when using ladders, stairs, etc.



Not that duplicate posts are a big deal, but if you edit your other 'patch' post in the General forum, there is a 'delete this post' button beside the 'change this post' button, which will remove the topic, as well (as long as nobody replies to it). This will not drop your post count.
