As a highly passionate gamer
i want to tell you at Larian, that divine divinity was one of the most immersive RPG's i have ever played. The thing that i liked highly about Divine divinity was the thousands of little details, that made it feel big. you could pick up almost evrything, forks, cups. pillows. all the food could be eated. evrything could be moved. and while it isnt some drastic change to gameplay i find it very fascinating, if i found a secret hatch, behind some bales of hay. or a Sword in a tree trunk, behind a stone. wich sometimes led to a sidequest. i loved the exploring and little secrets of the game, it gave it a mystic feeling. and a good sense of adventure. even the greater part of the side quests, had an original story and good dialog choices. i also liked the little bit of black humour, it was used. in little partions. so it never runed the feeling of the game, and it was in place.i totaly loved the skill system. you could be evrything you want, for example, i was a survivor, i used poison a lot, and daggers ofcourse, but i was able to choose a bit magic, and warrior skills as well, this made every character very unique. the game had an incredible sense of roleplay. for example the pubs. i really got that cozy feeling, and felt i was really there, also the Cursed abby gave me a suspense feeling,it is the combination of the fantastic music, and the envirements . that was my experience with Divine divinity. But one thing im afraid of with divine divinity 2 is, in the last few years There is a common misconception that the only way to make something accesible is to reduce complexity. an example for this is oblivion. the game had a good atmosphere, but the dialog, and character development was a lot more simplified then morrowind. and dialog and character development is what really counts in an RPG in my opinion. ofcourse i cant judge Divine divinity 2 yet, as there isnt even any information yet. but maybe my post, sets people to think, and for all people on the boards, what is your experience with this?
